When it comes to protecting your work site, look for quality training courses in world-class facilities, providing curriculums or custom programs that meet your needs. Comprehensive training will provide practical, hands-on experience that incorporates elements workers encounter on a daily basis, including scaffolding, fixed ladders, towers, sloped roofs, rebar walls, elevated catwalks, I-beams and confined spaces. Also always ensure courses meet industry regulations and standards set by OSHA, MSHA and ANSI.

Workers’ lives are on the line every day, but ensuring their safety starts long before the job begins. No one understands this better than 3M Fall Protection. Our training is based on more than 70 years of expertise in fall protection around the globe.

What kind of fall protection education do I need?
  • Open Enrollment Classes

Open enrollment classes allow workers to get a mix of classroom and hands-on training using a formal curriculum in a facility that utilizes the same structures your workers use on a daily basis. 3M Fall Protection offers a full range of fall protection and industrial rescue courses at our training centers. In the US, these are located in Red Wing, MN, Houston, TX and Orange County, CA. We also partner with other locations throughout the country multiple times of year.

  • On-site Training

In some cases, it may be more cost effective to have the trainers come to you. You may have a large crew or want workers to experience the training in their own real-world environment. In these cases, we can send a trainer to you with all the equipment needed.

  • Fall Protection Awareness Demonstrations

Sometimes you simply want workers to gain a better awareness of fall protection. In these cases, a mobile demonstration may be all you need. Our fleet of specialized vehicles can bring on-site, hands-on fall protection demonstrations to your workforce with actual drop-tests and force measuring instruments.

Considerations when choosing a class to attend

Selecting the right class means accounting for what needs to be learned or achieved, by whom, and the quality of the instruction.

    Topic

Each course will cover specific topics and teach an appropriate level of skills. Some courses address working at heights, others working in confines spaces; some are for the workers themselves, others for rescuers, and still others for those who train the workers or rescuers.

    Certification

Some workers require training to a particular standard or to receive a formal certification. Be sure to select courses that meet that need.

    Trainers

The experience and competence of trainers, and the thoroughness of the curriculum they teach, is critical to the effectiveness of a training course. Look for courses with experienced, certified trainers and a strong history of expertise.
